We came for the quiet and the natural setting, and that’s exactly what we found. After going up the mountain to watch the sunset, we arrived around 22:00, but the staff still greeted us warmly and even offered snacks. The view from the mountain was stunning. The hotel feels simple and eco-minded, with kindness at its heart. It’s especially good value if you’re looking for peace and nature, and I’d recommend it for that.

The rooms were clean and good, especially the ones for larger families with five or six beds. Still, it felt too expensive for this area, given the price and the service in the restaurant. I can’t recommend it :-(

After a 12-hour drive, we arrived late and tired, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the shower was good, just what we needed. The hotel was easy to find in a beautiful, peaceful setting. We didn’t eat at the restaurant because of our arrival time, but would consider staying again on future trips. It works well as a stop on the way to the Gorges du Tarn area, or as a base for exploring locally. The scenic route back to the motorway the next morning was incredibly beautiful.

This is one of the nicest places in the area, and it’s very popular, so book well ahead if you’re hoping to stay in August. Choose your room carefully too: for a balcony and a view, ask for one at the back rather than facing the front car park. We had room 6 after requesting an upgrade from a room with only a window, in case a balcony room opened up. Ours looked over the front and the car park. From the balcony, about half the view was scenery, while the rest was the dining room roof.

Right in the middle of nature, with volcano views and comfortable beds in clean rooms. The friendliness really does seem to be part of the place’s philosophy, and it’s great value for money.
