The restaurant is fantastic, and you can tell the owners care deeply about what they do. The room, though, was hot and hard to cool. There was no air conditioning, and when we opened the windows, biting insects came in along with noise from discos and rowdy people until around 3 a.m.

The seafood choucroute was out of this world, and the strawberry soup dessert is worth a detour. The oysters are grown here on the island, so they’re wonderfully fresh and full of flavour. You can eat inside or out on the terrace overlooking the yacht harbour, and the cuisine is exceptional.

We had a lovely meal here last night, and we’ve also stopped for morning coffee on our walks. The food and coffee were delicious, and the staff friendly. Everything was clean, too. It’s a nice spot by the river to sit and watch the world go by. We’ll return next time we visit. 👍👍

The service was excellent, and the staff spoke reasonable English. It costs a little more than other restaurants we’ve tried on Ile d'Oleron, but we thought it was worth it. The menu has plenty of fish as well as other choices. I had a prawn starter followed by Iberian pork with roast potatoes and vegetables. My partner chose skate with mashed potatoes and a seafood platter. Everything was well cooked and very tasty.

It was nice just to get out and have a meal, but the food was mixed. My wife’s turbot with lentils was disappointing, the lentils were cold and the fish had no taste. My plancha starter wasn’t the best I’ve had and needed more cheese with the meat selection. I had cravin, a tasty flat fish, though the vegetable ragout was cold too.
