Villa Rosa

We stayed from May 16th to 20th, 2022. The house was pleasant, quiet, and well-maintained, with a delightful hostess who was attentive and engaging when talking about her region. Her sightseeing advice was excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was included, quite good, and made for good value. The location is excellent for the major castles and charming villages. The only small drawback was the lack of shutters, so we woke up a little too early.

The rooms are beautiful, and there’s a pool and a lovely private park. It’s also close to Montrichard village and Château de Chenonceau. Absolutely lovely. Well done, Madam!

The breakfast was nice, and the bedding was good. The place is an attic conversion above a garage, called a “loft,” with two double beds in one shared area. The furnishings are old and basic. We’d confirmed our arrival, yet the room was €80 a night when it was 11°C. The next day it was €170 for four people. Hotels are much more comfortable and welcoming. The owner doesn’t seem to understand why some guests are unhappy. She should get out more and compare what she offers with other places in the same price range.

The accommodation is in a pleasant setting, is properly equipped, and is fairly well located. The surroundings are bucolic, and the owner was charming when we arrived in the late afternoon. After a quick look around, though, we got a rundown of the rental rules. Set aside half an hour for it, because the instructions go on and on. If you arrive by bike, be prepared to hear about inconsiderate people from your country. You can cool off in the pool after that, but only for an hour and at times agreed with the owner. If you like quiet and strict rules, this place is for you.
