The location is handy for exploring the Tarn Gorges, and there's plenty of information on site about things to do in the region. We enjoyed meeting the other guests and had some good moments together. The setting is peaceful with a lovely view, and the staff are very kind, but it feels like the place is missing something. There's a lot of potential here. We were able to enjoy our stay during the heatwave thanks to the pool, though it attracted hundreds of wasps and flies. There was no fan or other way to cool down in the chalet, and the freezer worked only when it felt like it. Pool hours were too short. One morning it opened 20 minutes late, and on our last day it closed 30 minutes early because the staff member on duty had “personal problems.” The chalet wasn't clean when we arrived. There were cockroaches, dirt, and leftover food in the cupboards. Nobody was ever at reception, though someone could be reached by phone. The staff changed every day, and some didn't speak French. The photos were misleading: it wasn't green and lush at all, but dry enough that a spark could set it alight. The chalets also face one another. The terrace boards had wide gaps and screws sticking up between them, so things fell through and couldn't be retrieved. There was lots of food under the terrace when we arrived, which attracted cockroaches. There was also a disgusting patch of stagnant water with a horrible smell. Flies were everywhere in the chalets, and wasps had got into the roof of ours. One of the staff members sprayed insecticide up there, which helped, so thank you for that. There were no activities or group events, not even a bar where we could get a coffee. One of the two washing machines worked; the working one was revolting and didn't even clean our clothes.

The chalet was just right for two, with excellent amenities, and the reception staff were really friendly. We had a very good stay and liked how well placed it is for exploring the Lozère region. Two weeks felt a little long, though, and we would have liked more chances to interact with the other guests or join an activity.

We had a pretty good week at the Chalets de Booz, and the price felt fair, though a few changes would make things more comfortable. The two bathrooms in our four-person chalet were a real plus. Some kitchen items and small appliances were missing, like teacups and a toaster, while the large separate freezer didn't seem very useful to me. The chalet was in a handy spot, near the Aveyron and not far from the Tarn Gorges, with lots of activities within reach. But there aren't any hiking or jogging paths you can access directly from the chalets. The nearby road wasn't a problem since we couldn't hear it. When we arrived, though, the chalet wasn't very clean: there was a lot of dust under the beds and several stains on the small sofa. We also noticed a sewer smell and reported it to reception.

The place is genuinely quiet and relaxing. We weren't sure about booking because the highway looked close on the map, but you can't see or hear it from the site. The management team was helpful and efficient, and there was a handy bread depot for breakfast. We had a relaxing, refreshing, and different kind of holiday in this pretty little village of chalets. They're simple but well equipped, and the surroundings are green, shady, and peaceful, right in the middle of nature. Our chalet overlooked the lake, which isn't suitable for swimming, but there's a large heated pool. It was a welcome break from everyday stress.

A really beautiful setting, and the chalets have nice terraces with not too much overlooking. It's also a very good base for visiting part of the region.
