We really wished we could have stayed longer. It was such a great place: peaceful, with a lovely, well-kept camping area and very clean, roomy washrooms. The hosts were so welcoming, and there are old farm objects around, plus ping pong and pétanque. You can order fresh croissants and homemade bread, too. The buildings date from the 16th century. The hostess also offers massages and yoga.

Small, cosy campsite, and really peaceful. The owners were very friendly.

Even with a cold, rainy last week, we could relax in the gite with the heater on and a book. We were there for our third family stay at Le Sauzet, with our children and grandchildren, split between the gite and the campsite, and it was comfortable and enjoyable as ever. René and Froukje were fantastic hosts. They made delicious meals and supplied fresh bread, snacks, and drinks. When it was too cold to eat outdoors, we gathered in the écurie by the fire and chatted. René was also very considerate of my gluten allergy. Highly recommended.

The weather didn't cooperate during our few days here, but the gite was warm and had everything we needed, including a modern bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. We stayed in the smaller version, a spacious, nicely renovated 16th-century house with 60 cm thick walls. It still has its original charm and wooden floors, though those can be a little noisy. The owners were friendly and hospitable, and had made excellent maps for walks and outings. The former baker also brought delicious fresh bread every day. There's a large camping area with electricity that would be lovely later in the year, all in a green, very peaceful setting.

The surrounding views from pitches 9, 10, and 11 are lovely, and those spots are the quietest. It's a friendly little campsite, mostly filled with Dutch families with young children, so it has a convivial feel. The Dutch owners are very welcoming. There are communal meals on Tuesdays, BBQs on Thursdays, and homemade pizza from the owner every other evening.
