We had a really relaxing stay and would make every effort to come back. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom roomy. Dinner and breakfast were very good, with fresh local food and nice wines. The courtyard garden is pretty, and the setting feels lovely and welcoming.

Be sure to book ahead for both the room and the restaurant. The cook is a master, coming up with a different menu each day to suit the mood. It’s a great place to stay or eat when you’re around Cotentin, and we always enjoy going back to see the lovely owners in such a lovely location.

The food was succulent, and it’s a perfect spot for weddings or group occasions.

There’s a church bell right next to the hotel that rang every 15 minutes all night. I could hear it even through earplugs, so if you need solid rest, I’d avoid this place. That part isn’t the hotel’s fault, but the room mix-up and the manager’s response were. The first photo showed the room we booked, while the second showed the room we actually got. I definitely wouldn’t have booked if they’d shown the actual room. The manager was completely unhelpful and unapologetic, and kept making excuses about the IT system and other things. Check his responses to other reviews here to get a sense of what he’s like.

The rooms lacked hygiene, the Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect, and there was no pressure in the shower. The owner wasn’t kind, and there wasn’t a vegetarian option, which still seems unthinkable in 2022. The dishes looked like bricks, were much too heavy, and weren’t presented in a way worthy of gastronomy. Horrible, avoid it!
