Chalet F'Net

We had plenty of room for two couples in this cozy wooden chalet, with its wood-burning fireplace, shaggy rugs, and incredible views across the valley and mountains. The road was so icy during our visit that getting to and from the car park, about 300 meters away, was difficult and potentially dangerous on foot. George, the property manager, shuttled us in the ATV, though I suspect all our requests kept him busy. He also got the hot tub going on a few nights. It takes a lot of wood and manual effort, but soaking in it during winter was a uniquely relaxing experience. The chalet has all the mountain-cabin charm you’d hope for. Le Bettex is a quick 15-minute drive away, with lots of top-quality skiing. On our final night, a local Argentine restaurant owner up the mountain agreed to cook steaks and bring them to our door. Look up La Tanière and see if Santi can arrange something similar.

George looked after us day and night and helped with everything we needed. He’s very experienced and knows the surrounding area well. The chalet felt like a private retreat in the French Alps, surrounded by nature, and the interior was warm and inviting. We loved the mountain setting, especially the breathtaking snowy panorama from the cleared spot near the old ski slope. My friends kept asking if I’d really taken the photos myself because the views looked almost too beautiful to be real ^^. It’s a lovely choice for a quiet break as a couple or a fun trip with friends, with comfort and scenery all in one.

After a full day skiing, the upstairs bathtub and outdoor hot tub were such a treat. The chalet is unique and beautifully put together, with furs that make it feel extra cozy. It gave us the seclusion we wanted, surrounded by nature, while still being close enough to drive to Chamonix for skiing. George was so helpful, keeping a fire ready and recommending restaurants. La Taniere was literally the best food ever. The walk up from the car park takes 10 minutes, but George can pick you up if you’d rather skip the workout. A 4WD and a car with high clearance are definitely a good idea.

Wesley was a brilliant host who went out of his way to help and make sure we had what we needed. Chalet F'net is spacious, with comfortable rustic furnishings, and its forest setting and amazing views make it a real break from city life. We had an excellent stay and I’d definitely recommend it.
