For what we paid, our six-day, five-night stay during peak winter ski season was a real bargain. The hotel is old, but we found it well preserved and comfortable for our family of four with two kids. The owner, Nick, was friendly and accommodating. The rooms have heaters and stay warm, and the bathroom’s hot water was great on cold winter nights. The lounge by the entrance felt welcoming, with free coffee, a microwave for heating food bought in town, and plenty of books. The bus stop right across from the hotel has a free bus to the telecabine. This is a good value-for-money stay for the price, location, and comfort available in St Gervais. Some guests seem to expect five-star treatment at this price, which isn’t a realistic expectation. If your expectations are high, look elsewhere and spend more.

The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay, and all the staff were friendly. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bakeries and just a five-minute walk from the ski lifts. At night the hotel becomes a fusion restaurant, with top-notch food cooked by the owner. We had a great time and will absolutely return!

Our booking was still accepted, but when we arrived the hotel was shut and abandoned. Locals told us the owners and staff had disappeared three weeks earlier, and the booking platforms were still taking reservations without telling anyone. Hôtel Val d'Este saved us. Hopefully they have room for you too if you were unlucky enough to book at Hôtel de Trois.

We stayed four nights at Hotel De Trois for an early ski trip this year. It’s an authentic, family-owned hotel with its own ground-floor restaurant. The rooms were cosy and very warm, with great hot showers and a bath tub. We got friendly hospitality and really good value, and the Asian food at their Bistro le Pasar restaurant was great. Try the cocktails too! It’s right in the heart of town, only 5-10 minutes from the lifts. Looking forward to coming back.

We recently stayed here and came away with a very negative impression. There was hair and other debris on the bed, bedside table, and in the shower, as well as dead insects and toilet paper left in the toilet. The room needed a thorough clean. We told the owner about the problems. The room got a cursory clean, but the owners didn’t apologize for the inconvenience. Breakfast was disappointing too. The morning pastries were vacuum-sealed and had an expiry date a week past, which is especially concerning for a place that also serves restaurant meals. We hope these problems are addressed in the future.
