le Hameau de l'Océan

Couldn't be better.

We chose the Colibri one-bedroom apartment for two, and it was comfortable, well equipped, with pleasant bedding. The terrace's sun loungers and garden furniture were a real bonus. The sea is close enough to reach easily on foot or by bike. Hameau de l'Océan was very quiet in May, though I wonder what it's like in summer. We only stayed three days, visiting nearby friends before going on to Futuroscope. We let them know we'd arrive late on the way there, and everything was ready when we got in. The following day, we were given a very warm welcome. The games room is nice, and the pool looked lovely, though we didn't get to swim. There's also a large barbecue, bikes to rent on-site, and little carts for unloading luggage, which were handy. A few small things could be better: the bathroom sink was too high for us short people, the windows have no shutters and the curtains aren't very opaque, and the kitchen had a sponge but no dish soap. There also weren't the basic supplies we usually find in guesthouses or B&Bs, like salt, pepper, oil, or vinegar. I know it's a holiday center, not a guesthouse, but still... 😏 None of that spoiled our fantastic stay, though it was too short. The price is competitive, and we'll keep this excellent place in mind for another trip to the Vendée region.

The owner was kind and helpful, and the staff were really friendly. We found the accommodation spotless and a welcome change from mobile homes packed closely together. The pool was great and nicely warm. I highly recommend this lovely campsite.

We loved the setting in the pine forest, close to the ocean, and the indoor pool was a good size. Our accommodation was lovely and spacious for a week away with my mother, the cat, and me. We were welcomed so warmly, and really appreciated the kindness and professionalism. We're already planning to return next year! ❤️😁
