Hotel l'Ortega Rennes Aeroport

This works really well as a travel hotel: a great bed and shower, comfortable carpets and wall art in the room and public areas, plus free fruit, water, and bean coffee in the bar. It has a low-key feel, with attentive staff and none of the unnecessary frills, like plastic kettles and instant coffee that nobody enjoys. The draft IPA was great, and parking felt safe. I’ll keep this brand on my shortlist.

There’s an Italian restaurant attached, and the pizzas were really good. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which is a real asset. Our room was clean and comfortable, not huge but more than enough for the night. It was a great stop for us while traveling through the area.

Visited June 2024. From the outside, the hotel is unassuming, with three floors of rooms inside and a couple of mezzanine landings. One has been turned into a tasteful lounge, which was handy since the rooms are quite small. Our room seemed recently modernized. It was very clean, with no signs of wear, and felt cozy and comfortable. We would have liked an ice machine, but enjoyed the stay all the same. Good value for money.

The rooms are on the small side, but they’re very clean and the price is nice for what you get. Friendly staff and a good breakfast for the cost, too. A great hotel for a trip, with a good price-to-quality ratio.
