The owners are delightful, knowledgeable, and hands-on, and I think that's what makes this place work so well. The restored reception space in the historic building is lovely and encourages people to stop and chat. I stayed in the dorm, which was surprisingly quiet, with everyone being considerate and trying not to disturb each other. The cooking facilities are excellent. It's a welcoming place for people who love the outdoors, hikers, bikers, Santiago pilgrims, digital nomads, and lost souls. The Hérault is a 10-15 minute walk away if you fancy a bracing morning swim in a peaceful spot with nightingales and herons, before the other visitors arrive to enjoy the world heritage site. I also recommend the bakery for sourdough, Chez Djo for Japanese-style takeaway, the woman selling delicious strawberries, eggs, and honey down Rue des Écoles Laïques, and L'Utopien bar for a little sophistication. There are gorgeous hikes in the hills behind the village, too.

The hosts are so kind and helpful, and the hostel is in a tiny but lovely village. I got lucky enough to catch one of their occasional concerts in the common area, and the atmosphere was amazing. This was easily one of my best hostel experiences. I spent two nights in the clean dorm, and the bunks felt sturdy. I wanted for nothing. If I'm back in the area, I'll definitely return. 10/10, and thanks for such a lovely stay!

I stayed one night and had a great time. The couple who own the place are lovely and kind, and the husband knows so much about the area's history. He was really interesting to talk to. My room was modern and very clean, with a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was very good, and the price was great.

It's great to find an affordable, modern, well-equipped hostel in such a small, charming town. As a bike tourist, I was glad there was a hose to wash the dirt off my bike. Highly recommended!
