It’s too far to walk to the beach, so you’ll need to drive or cycle. The site is just off the main road, which keeps it quiet while still feeling lively. It’s between St Gilles Croix de Vie and Saint Jean de Monts, with the restaurants in the working port of St Gilles one way and the great beaches of St Jean the other.

We spent 14 nights there and didn’t get a single quiet one. Events ended at midnight, then people walked around the campsite screaming and shouting for another half hour. It ruined the holiday we’d looked forward to all year. Never going back.

People were shouting until 2 a.m., and the staff were impolite. The toilets were awful. Nobody speaks English, and they weren’t very friendly to English people. I’ll never understand how this place got four stars.

AVOID. This was the worst holiday I’ve ever had. The place was dirty and rude, with no amenities and no way to get anywhere without a car. I felt the owners hated English people and that the campsite was racist against them. Absolutely awful.
