Le Richelieu

We arrived quite late, but the manager welcomed us with a smile. He's also the cook and server, and even at that hour he took the time to prepare everything carefully. The food is homemade, full of flavor and really delicious. It's a simple, no-fuss place, but warm and genuine, and we felt right at home. A lovely find that I'd recommend without hesitation!

We had a wonderful time at Sushi Kyo in Saint-Jean-de-Monts. The gentleman who welcomed and served us was incredibly kind and attentive. The dining room is pleasant and beautiful, and our carefully prepared dishes were delicious. This restaurant deserves to be better known, and could use more customers. It's well worth the trip.

The only thing I liked was the location. The room itself was very old and badly maintained, with an unpleasant smell, dust and cobwebs, dead insects, and several bulbs that didn't work. The pillows were flat. Breakfast was basic but adequate, though the room was cold and cluttered with bits and pieces. They no longer provide daily housekeeping, supposedly because of Covid, even though it's 2025. We felt we got only the bare minimum for a price that wasn't attractive or in keeping with the experience. I found it neither professional nor honest, and left very disappointed.

We arrived quite late in the service, but there was no problem getting lunch. The dish was delicious and made fresh to order. The price was fair for the amount of ingredients, and the server was very pleasant and helpful. I'd recommend it.
