Gite de la Borde

The rooms can fit a big group, with plenty of space, and the beds are really comfortable. There’s a trampoline outside, and the practical wood stove heats the place well. It’s a bright, charming cottage with several floors, very clean and well insulated, so it’s nice to spend time in both day and night. The kitchen has everything we needed. The owner and her daughter were lovely and attentive. I’d definitely recommend it for a larger group.

The house is in a great location and could have real potential, but the owner wasn’t much of a host. We had no signed contract, and she left halfway through the week, leaving us with a dirty house. The toilet leaked, the bathtub was clogged, there were fleas in the carpets, and the sheets hadn’t been changed. We couldn’t get hold of her. The pool seemed questionable, and the hot tub couldn’t be used. I’ll leave out the rest of the details.

There’s lots of sleeping space and several bathrooms, so it worked well for us. The large living room has a wood-burning stove, and the place feels warm and welcoming. The owner was lovely and really helpful. Thank you, Rachel.

It’s old, and the cleaning was pretty careless. It works for a night as a temporary fix.
