Logis Hôtel Restaurant Le Castel Fleuri

The food tastes like heaven, and the views are spectacular. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the staff are such a warm, friendly delight. I can’t wait to go back.

The room was clean, if a bit small, and the location is great for the nearby hikes. The pool was nice and cool, with unheated water. There’s no air conditioning, and at times we were really struggling with the heat, which is why I’ve given four stars. The place is animal friendly, with a fenced garden that was perfect for our dog. The restaurant was very good, the staff were nice, and the chef can sometimes accommodate customer requests even when we’re being annoying :)

A great base for exploring Combe Laval, with secure motorcycle parking. The restaurant is really good, and the helpful staff are happy to prepare a meal the way you want it. They’re proud of their hotel, and rightly so.

Hotel Castel Fleuri. I’ve never even seen the place, and I seriously doubt Hotel Castel Fleuri’s integrity. My colleague booked a room for me by phone, directly with the hotel, for three nights. It wasn’t through a booking site. Those sites showed no rooms available within 30 km. My colleague gave them my name, phone number, and email address, which includes my full name and company name, along with my credit card details. There was a mix-up, and my colleague told me the hotel had been canceled, so I found somewhere else. I never got a booking confirmation by email from the hotel either. Then, that evening, Hotel Castel Fleuri charged me €330. I only noticed it on my credit card statement the following day. When my colleague called about the charge, the hotel said they wouldn’t refund it. They claimed they had tried to call me but missed the “6” in my number, so couldn’t reach me. They said they waited until midnight, but never emailed me because they couldn’t call. They did have my email right, though, since they sent me an invoice. They spelled the guest name wrong, even though it’s the same name as in the email address, and somehow they managed to write down my credit card information correctly. Two or three other hotel owners told me it’s usual to keep one night’s payment for a no-show, maybe with a small cancellation fee, but not charge for all three nights. This hotel is probably greedy.
