Les Trois Soleils De Montal

We’ve been three times from Australia, and Monsieur Bizat’s cooking keeps making each visit special. He adds herbs, spices, and other flavors in such original ways. This time I especially liked the cold tomato soup with herb sorbet, the twice-cooked Mont Royal squab with sweet garlic cream, the upside-down basket of provincial apricots with raspberry and pistachio choux pastry, and the pork dish. I didn’t know I liked cold tomato soup until now. The sommelier found us a lovely Chardonnay that wasn’t too expensive, and Madam Bizat always leaves delicious macarons in our room for when we arrive. The big, clean pool was much appreciated in the heat during our two days there, and a shady tree cast its shadow over it so we didn’t get sunburnt. We had a health issue during our stay, and Madam Bizat and another staff member were really kind and helpful.

The room felt a little tired in its decor, and the shower opened into the bedroom with only a small screen. Still, the setting is lovely and the rooms have balconies. I didn’t try the more casual restaurant by the pool, which I was told was there. We ate in the main restaurant both nights of our two-night stay. The menu was delicious and put together incredibly well, and all the staff were friendly and kind. The women on staff were especially charming and helped us choose wines. I’d definitely recommend eating here at least once. It may be a little expensive at €62 each, but that includes five courses and the food and service were fantastic. The macarons in the room and the aperitif were lovely little touches. Thank you.

Thanks to the chef and staff for such a wonderful evening 🤗🙏🏼. The restaurant has a beautifully put-together menu and is one of the best places to eat around Saint Céré. Definitely worth a visit!

The rooms are okay, but the restaurant is impeccable. The food is incredibly good and the service is fantastic. I strongly recommend trying the tasting menu!
