It takes a little effort to get there, but the room was roomy, cozy and nice. The bed could use replacing. Dinner was the best call: we shared it with the other hotel guests, four couples and two children from all over the world. The French food was delicious, and breakfast was just as good. I wouldn’t skip this place when visiting Loches.

Laurent, the owner, was wonderful and took care of everything we needed. We were even moved up to a huge private room on the second floor. The old water mill dates back to the 1500s, with a quaint look but modern comforts. A lovely, restful stay in the French countryside, close to wine country, and a peaceful walk by the river was a perfect addition. Such a joy!

Being on an island in a mill made this location feel really distinctive. Just a great experience.

A lovely old mill, gardens, and a river you can swim in. Breakfast was great, too.
