Camping Les Cent Chênes

There's loads to do in the area, and the activities nearby are great. Getting here and around is a bit annoying, though: you have to take a small road downhill, and everything is at least a 20-minute drive away. The campground itself is really beautiful, with chalets and tent pitches, and the service was great.

We were delighted when we arrived and found the spot. The pitches are huge and comfortable, and because it's not central, it's great for a relaxed, quiet night. For the camping itself, I'd give it four out of five. The toilets and showers aren't separated for men and women, though, which made things a bit uncomfortable for women at night. The service changed everything. The services they advertise weren't provided, and while the reception worker really did want to help, her manager stepped in and set a bad example. The manager made us feel hardly welcome because we aren't French and don't speak French. We were very disappointed to leave like that.

This is a peaceful, zen-like campsite, without the packed pitches you get at typical campgrounds. It was clean, the pool was crystal clear and just the right temperature, and the washing machines were excellent. At night there was no traffic driving around, which we liked. Management was there if we needed anything. You can order fresh bread and croissants from the nearby bakery the night before and collect them at the bar. We had a great stay and would like to return. Nice and Antibes beaches are about 30 minutes away.

I left feeling ripped off and angry. After five days in the cabin, we were told at the end that we had to clean it ourselves. We did a thorough job with cleaning products we had to buy, plus a sponge and dishwashing liquid, but they still charged us 15 because the shower was a little wet. At that price, you might as well stay in a hotel. Before that, the place had felt just okay. The staff girl was nice, but the cabin had no toilet paper, oil, salt, or even dishwashing liquid. We were close to a road, and the cars, especially the bikes, were annoying. There were also a few cockroaches around.
