La Mare aux Oiseaux, The Originals Collection

The meal was prepared very nicely, and most of the staff were lovely. But the waiter who took our order came across as arrogant and barely engaged with us. Sun was shining right into my eyes, so I asked for help. He kept insisting he'd given us the best table in the house, as if I should be grateful. When he finally accepted there was a problem, he couldn't work the blinds and left us sitting in the sun. I know, sunshine here must be a rare thing.

The location is unique, the room was dreamy, and the food was great. The website really doesn't do the hotel's cozy feel justice. We had a fantastic stay that will stick with us, with top notch service throughout. The food deserves a special mention for being creative, unique, and extremely local. Breakfast was amazing too. It was a real treat, and we'll definitely come back.

Third time visiting, and the rooms are still charming and the meals amazing. The staff are exceptional. We had fantastic weather in early April, and it was such a relaxing stay.

The restaurant was a highlight for us. Bare tables without linen looked amazing, and a snazzy seasonal cocktail got the dining experience off to a great start. The meal felt like two star standard. We've stayed in the cottages near the spa twice now and were blown away both times by the standard. They were comfortable and refined. Can't wait to return!
