La Ferme du Bien-etre

Set in a renovated farm, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the views are among the best around. The local ingredients and reasonable prices make it worth a visit. My beef tartare tasted good, though the meat was a bit tough. It’s one of the area’s top five restaurants, in my opinion, and somewhere I’d go at least once. Since it’s also a boutique retreat hotel, it could suit a getaway with someone you love.

The Mezenc massif panorama makes the day feel special, and finishing with a visit to the spa before sleeping in rooms that fit the old farm building sounds just right. The place is simple and authentic, with a choice between the bistro and gourmet restaurant. Cleira and Quentin put their skill into the dishes, from the excellent beef rib to smoked salmon and trout, along with their own bakery offerings. It all tastes homemade. The welcome from the hosts and their team is warm, too. If you’re in central France and appreciate authenticity, this well-being farm is worth the trip. Its cuisine has also made it into Gault et Millau.

We found the staff friendly and attentive, and the restaurant serves local produce and wine. There’s a breathtaking view from this excellent hotel, and it’s a good base for hiking.
