On our recent motorbike trip, we spent a couple of days here while exploring the local roads. The host kindly let us leave the bikes in the barn, and we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the bar. I'd happily come back. I first knew this lovely, characterful hotel as a base for skiing at the nearby resorts with friends.

The village seemed almost deserted, which made it peaceful and gave it a picturesque feel. Inside, the hotel was nicer than it looked from outside, and since we were the only guests that night, we got the best room in the building. Our host, a very nice Scotsman, cooked us a lovely dinner. After a good night's sleep and a French breakfast, we set off again.

We had to find an unexpected place to stay when severe thunderstorms hit the campsite where we'd planned to pitch our tent. The hotel was very clean, with a nice vintage feel, and the beds were good. It was really quiet too, so we could continue our journey fully charged the next day. Very good.

The owner made us feel very welcome and was really friendly. It's a lovely little hotel in a great spot for skiing, and I'd definitely recommend it.
