A smaller site, but the host is really helpful and accommodating. There’s a great water park for kids, and food vans come by every couple of days. The cycling path is right next to the campsite, with about 20 minutes to the beach and 15 minutes to the other side of town. I’d choose a pitch under the pines if you need electric hookup, since only half the oak-side pitches have it. The oaks do give you more shade, though. We’d definitely book again.

We stayed three nights in July and found it wonderfully peaceful, the calmest stop of our five months travelling around France. It’s set among trees, with forest walks nearby, and the small town and supermarkets are easy to reach. The owner and her family were lovely, and there were good facilities for our young baby too. Our only difficulty was getting our motorhome to the grey water disposal point. Our van is 7.4m and 3.5T, so it was tricky to maneuver, but the owners quickly came to help when we got stuck. We loved our stay. Thank you.

We rented a spacious tent with a hammock at this very peaceful campsite. It’s about 25 minutes by bike from the sea, and the village and supermarket are close by. The staff speak good English too. Contis Plage is a lovely seaside resort, with restaurants, nice shops and good surfing facilities. Highly recommended!

We keep coming back every year, for more than five years now. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing family holiday: there’s room under the pines, it never feels overcrowded, and the campers are friendly and laid back. The kids can play together if they want, and it stays quiet. The Cassen family are open, friendly and accommodating, and the site is spotless with everything you need for a camping break in the Landes. St Julien and its shops and services are only minutes away by bike. Contis is a refreshing 20-minute ride along the cycle path, and you can join the velossidée to go further. We’d definitely recommend it.
