This is a lovely, well-equipped village with a swimming pool, tennis courts and a Petanque ground. It used to be inhabited mostly by people from northern Europe, especially friends from the Netherlands, but now there's a growing French holiday crowd too. It's also well placed, just a few kilometres from the main beaches like Contis and Mimizan. Worth the trip.

The village is quiet and well cared for, with good sports facilities: free tennis, a lemon swimming pool, ping pong and badminton. We rented house 62 from a landlord. It's shaded, peaceful and equipped for four. Saint-Julien-en-Born has all the shops you need, good restaurants, a well-stocked Carrefour Contact, a medical centre and a pharmacy. Cycle paths lead to the ocean at Cobtis, St-Girons, Cap de l'Homy and Mimizan. It's a good base for the Landes and the Arcachon Bay, with activities nearby like tree climbing, cycling, canoeing and ocean surfing.

This is my second year visiting, and I'll definitely come back. It's a peaceful place in a magnificent setting, with practical, private townhouses that have all the amenities you need.

The staff are very welcoming, and there are beautiful walks starting right from here. It's a peaceful spot among the pine trees, with clean grounds and very well-kept green spaces. A welcoming little village where it's lovely to spend time. The ocean is reachable by bike, and shops are nearby. The Patou butcher shop is highly recommended. Thank you!

It used to be a Dutch holiday village, but many people now live in this housing estate all year round.
