Hotel Le Cadet De Gascogne

This little hotel and restaurant is rightly the town's evening gathering spot for meals and socializing. The welcome is warm and energetic as soon as you walk in, and the small menu has something for most tastes. The food is delicious, but book ahead because it fills up quickly. We would have missed the place if no one had told us about it. The local French seem to keep the best for themselves.

We found Le Cadet de Gascogne on Google Maps while traveling between France and Spain, looking for somewhere around halfway to stretch our legs, rest, and have lunch. It was just right. We had the three-course lunch menu, the only option, and it was good value. The food was simple, fresh tasting, and delicious. We sat on a pleasant, tree-shaded patio, and there seemed to be more French diners than foreigners, which I saw as a plus. Service was friendly and efficient, the bathrooms were clean and modern, and there was plenty of free parking nearby. I'd recommend it for a lunch stop.

I wasn't staying at the hotel, but while traveling with my wife and son I needed somewhere to eat. It's a quaint, endearing little place with friendly staff. My merlu came with finely prepared rice in a rich parmesan and cream-based sauce. Fantastico!

The food in the restaurant was fantastic, tasty, and well priced. Attentive waiting staff got it to us quickly. We stayed in room 6, which was large, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well equipped too. Five stars. I'd definitely stay and eat here again!
