Leu Bleu Austral

The peaceful setting and magnificent view made it easy to switch off for a few days at Carine's. Breakfast was lovely, and everything felt just right. Carine looked after us so well, shared lots of ideas for things to do around the island, and was a huge help with planning our stay. We only wished we could have stayed longer, and can't wait to return.

The ocean view was incredible, especially from breakfast, which was generous and had everything we could want. Carine and Thierry were also full of useful suggestions for seeing the island. We spent 12 days with them on our first trip to Reunion Island, and the house and grounds were very well cared for. Our bedroom was practical, and the kitchen area had plenty of equipment. Carine made us feel at home right away. She knows the island so well and gave us lovely advice for exploring it. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, the pleasant rooms, and the garden and pool. The hosts made the stay memorable, with their kindness, thoughtful advice, and flexibility around our activities, from day hikes to two-day hikes and diving. They clearly love their adopted island and share that feeling in a way that stayed with us. My wife and I spent almost two weeks with Carine, Thierry and Mélanie in the heights of St Leu, and we hope to return to Saint Leu at Leu Bleu Austral. The location was ideal for getting around the island, and the panoramic views and sunsets were breathtaking. The five guest rooms occupy the ground floor of the large house, opening onto an exotic garden and a beautiful heated pool. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated, and very practical, with a kitchenette and useful dishes. Even small details were considered, including two stations for cleaning hiking shoes in the garden. Breakfast was delicious and varied, served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. upstairs on the veranda overlooking the ocean.
