Leu Cocon

The place was thoughtfully stocked, with cocktail supplies and an appetizer platter waiting for us, plus coffee pods, ground coffee, tea, and basic kitchen supplies. We'd brought what we needed for the weekend, so didn't use the groceries. The decor was tasteful throughout. The bedding was comfortable, with big fluffy pillows, but I still had a terrible night's sleep. The smell was the main problem. Every room had air freshener diffusers, and the air felt suffocating. I'm sensitive to smells, and even after taking the bottles outside, the fragrance had soaked in and I had trouble breathing. The outdoor hot tub also had an overpowering scent. People with allergies or smell sensitivities should avoid this place. If they are trying to cover a humidity or plumbing issue, there are more natural ways to deal with it while respecting guests' health. If it weren't for the unbearable smell and the drive, I would have given it 5 stars. The property is high above Saint-Leu, and the access road is winding and complicated. When we left the next day, it got frightening: a wheel hanging in mid-air, skidding, and several maneuvers to get through. It was an adrenaline rush, and a nasty fall seemed possible. I wouldn't call the small whirlpool tub a jacuzzi either. In a group like ours, you have to take turns, or fit just two people at a time, so there's little room to stretch out. We didn't dare go out at night to find a nearby restaurant. Rethink the entrance, since not everyone is a skilled driver. These products can also be bad for people who aren't allergic.

The hosts welcomed us with a lovely aperitif cocktail, and breakfast was delicious. We stayed just one night, the two of us, and it felt much too short. The decor was wow, and the whole place felt like a loving little haven, with so many thoughtful touches that made us comfortable. We were so well looked after that we didn't want to leave. Leu Cocon really lives up to its name. We loved it and will definitely come back! Thanks again to our hosts ☀️
