Mercure Saint Lo Centre

The location is hard to beat, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, too. The hotel feels more like a top three-star place than a four-star one.

The restaurant food was above average, and the staff worked hard to meet every request. My husband and I stayed three nights, and our room was comfortable and clean. It was serviced and restocked each day. We truly enjoyed the stay.

It’s easy to settle in here: there’s free parking out front, a helpful and friendly reception team, and a good room with a good bed and shower. The bathroom seemed freshly redone. The toilet is very modern and separate, though, as in most places, there’s no sink in that space for washing your hands. The restaurant serves good food and drinks, and breakfast includes tasty local products. The pastries were only average for Normandy. My one real complaint is that there are no fitness facilities.

We hadn’t planned to stop in Saint Lô, but our car needed repairs and we ended up staying several nights. The staff, especially Justine, were understanding and did all they could to make the stay pleasant. I’d highly recommend a visit to this region of France.
