The room could use a better clean, particularly the bathroom, and the walls are so thin that nighttime noise carries constantly. I wouldn't recommend it to light sleepers. Breakfast was limited too, with only a few boiled eggs and one choice of cold cuts and cheese. Still, the reception staff were helpful and very friendly, and the tram is only a 2-3 minute walk away, handy for Basel. Fine for a single night.

The hotel staff were welcoming and good. The ventilation, though, was dreadful. It felt like sleeping outdoors in a desert wind, and I joked there weren't enough camels. I tried to put the experience gently, but ended up canceling my second night.

We had to cancel because my wife was hospitalized, but they offered neither a refund nor credit toward a future stay. I won't return to Aparthotel Adagio access Saint Louis Bale or another Accor hotel. Be careful with extra charges for parking, breakfast, or cancellations, and consider booking elsewhere. Update, 11 December 2025: I sent proof of my wife's hospitalization and still got no refund. At first they said they didn't need evidence, then replied to my review asking for it. After I provided it, they ignored it. Very unfriendly hotel and terrible service.

We lost our luggage at the airport, and the front desk never let us know whether it had arrived. We found out only when checking out several days later, after we'd had to buy a whole new set of clothes. The location was convenient, but the service was poor.

We booked three rooms, and I got room 317 with a nice balcony. It was spotless, spacious, and had a small kitchen with everything needed. The queen bed was on the small side, but that's Europe. The two supposedly free Nespresso coffee pods are no longer provided, so bring your own or pay €6 for ten downstairs. Check-in and checkout were quick and friendly, though checkout is already at 11 a.m. I visit St Louis often, and at a similar price to the lovely IBIS farther into town, Addagio is my pick now. Tram 11 is about 200 meters away and gets you to Basel center in 15 minutes. Dogs are welcome for €6 per night. Thanks for the Vin Chaud (Glühwein) at reception, a lovely bit of ACCOR hospitality.
