We stayed two nights in the gîte after our wedding on August 30, 2019. It was peaceful, clean, and relaxing, and the owner was extremely kind. The welcome was warm, too. Some people may find the mattresses too firm, depending on what they like, but they’re good quality and orthopedic, which explains the firmness.

The cottage was simple, clean, and had everything we needed. It was pleasant and quiet, and we were warmly welcomed. There’s no air conditioning in our cottage, only a ceiling fan, which could be a downside in summer. We’re here in August and the temperature is perfect, though. The bedding is firm. The gate is manual, and residents are reminded to lock it after each use.

We were greeted with fresh eggs and bananas, and got more during our stay. The gîte is well placed for exploring Cilaos, the volcano, the Route du Sud, and plenty more.

We spent 10 days at Mrs. Payet’s place. It was simple, complete, efficient, and inexpensive, and she’s super nice. I recommend this gîte. Big hugs from the two young people who have wonderful memories of you.
