We paid £30 each, and for an overnight stop before the ferry home the next morning, that was okay. We might stay again, possibly. The bed was a comfortable king size, the bathroom had a good, spacious shower, and the TV had all the channels, including BBC News on 53. The room was warm, so we opened the window, but its latch for keeping it ajar had broken off. The hotel sits beside a busy road, and passing traffic is noisy. Check-in was through a machine: we entered our online booking reference and got the room number and main door code. Reception is rarely open, so be ready to use it. There’s plenty of parking in a rather run-down-looking area. The Intermarche supermarket opposite is open, though its derelict appearance made us think it was shut. We didn’t meet any staff except the cleaners out on the long balconies, who all said hello.

The rooms were dated, dark and dingy, and the customer service was dreadful. Nobody was there when we arrived, so we had to use the automatic check-in machine. It was broken, and once it started working it wouldn’t recognize that I’d booked several rooms. I called the helpline and was rudely told someone would arrive in three hours. On another leg of the journey we booked an IBis at the same price and had a much better experience.

Clean, comfortable room, with plenty of parking around the hotel. Great value.

A handy place to stay before catching the morning ferry. The rooms are basic but a decent size, and the beds are comfortable. There’s parking on both sides of the building and several EV charging points at the back. I checked in online the day before and got an email that morning with my room number and access code, so I could head straight to the room. Check-in was easy. I’ll definitely stay again.

The reception staff let us down. They seemed like they were on holiday and couldn’t care less. I’m from South Africa, so English isn’t even my first language, but they wouldn’t try basic English. I spoke very basic French too, and they still didn’t understand, just kept answering in French. That was rude.
