Hôtel Les Charmettes

The tuna was so good I ate it before I could even take a photo. Les Charmettes is a rare find that gets both dining and accommodations right. The restaurant sits right on the beach, with unbeatable views and a clear vantage point for the sunset. Food was delicious, and the hotel was clean and comfortable, with a lovely welcome and friendly staff. The seaside walk to the walled city takes about 30 minutes and is beautiful, the kind you won’t forget. We highly recommend staying and eating here.

The restaurant was delicious, though the staff seemed a little unsure about handling GF requests. We got there in the end. Breakfast was a nice buffet with a range of choices, but quite pricey. It’s a lovely boutique restaurant overlooking the promenade and beach, with very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable, though we heard a little noise from other rooms.

We went in the off season and still had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean, had a great view, and fit four of us in one room without feeling too crowded. It’s about a 30-minute walk from both the train station and the walled city. The location is fantastic, and my friends and I really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend.

We paid a fair EUR 83 for the night, plus EUR 10 per adult for breakfast and 8 for our older child. Eating breakfast made with local products in front of the ocean was a great experience. The view over the Sillon and the place’s spirit and decor give it real charm. The hotel occupies two historic houses, one oceanfront and one in the backyard. We stayed in the second, in a nicely renovated and decorated family room. It was a bit tiny but clean. The bathroom could use improvement, especially the shower curtain. It’s a nice boutique hotel.
