Logis Hôtel la Grassinais Saint-Malo

It's a calm hotel where you can get a long, deep sleep, and it's very well located. The staff are friendly, especially the owner, Christopher, who makes you feel at home every moment. There's free water, tea, coffee, and a kettle in the room. I hear the hotel is popular with pilots doing simulator training.

We had a lovely welcome both when we arrived and at breakfast the next morning, and the staff were so friendly. It's a dog-friendly hotel with modern, beautifully furnished rooms and a lovely ensuite shower. The old building, possibly a former farm, is beautiful and only about a ten-minute drive from the ferry port and old town. We had dinner at Panda Wok, just a two-minute walk away. Highly recommended!

The building and reception are nice, and the reception area is lovely, with seating and free water. But we were disappointed by the tiny rooms. The hotel calls them cosy, though for a Logis “Elegance” category I expected better, and the bed wasn't anything special either. I'd call the room cosy at best, maybe “essential.” The reception seems to be the only thing that fits the category. We stayed before taking the ferry at St Malo, and the hotel was in a trading estate, farther from town than we'd expected. A shame, as we'd hoped for somewhere special on our last day.

This Chateau hotel is stunning, especially after such a thoughtful restoration by the owners. They’ve respected the old building while giving it a fresh, modern feel, with bright mural details and good quality bedroom furniture. All the shared spaces feel welcoming, and there's a beautiful patio outside with chairs, tables, and an umbrella. Our bedroom was huge, with a huge, very comfortable bed, crisp white linen, and plenty of extra pillows. I was in heaven. We also got an unexpected free upgrade from our original booking to a better, beautiful room measuring 193 Sqft. I loved the interior decor and was so glad I found this hotel for our trip back to the UK. I wish I'd booked two nights so I could try breakfast, maybe next time. The receptionist let us check in early, and parking was easy in the beautiful courtyard, which has a security camera. It was one of the most welcoming places I've stayed during our three-week holiday. There's a restaurant and shops nearby, plus frequent buses into the centre of St Malo. Highly recommended, even though it's right in the middle of an industrial estate.
