Domaine du Salabert

The garden, donkey, pony, dog Norma, and our three supposedly unfortunate hens all added to the charm of this magical place. The owners were so kind and helpful, and kept sharing stories about the region. We spent two absolutely delightful days at the Domaine. Helene's cooking was delicious, with Robert, known as Lulu, choosing the wines. The rooms had wonderful decor, great taste, and a rich family history. I highly recommend it.

Mme. Hélène's suggestions helped make our holiday lovely, even with all the rain. Breakfast was a treat every morning, with delicious local produce, and the countryside setting felt cozy and homely. We had a fantastic week and found it truly relaxing.

We'd love to come back. Hélène and Robert gave us a warm welcome, and the romantic suite had charming decor in a pleasant, peaceful setting. The table d'hôte was pure bliss, refined in both its presentation and menu. Thank you again.

The weather kept us from relaxing by the garden and pool this time, but Hélène put together a different itinerary for us each day. Her advice took us beyond the guidebooks and showed us a new side of the region every day. After discovering Domaine du Salabert last year, we returned to enjoy the estate and the hospitality of Hélène and her husband. We shared many lovely conversations again, and their warmth, kindness, and generosity toward guests are still what stand out most. Breakfast was hearty and delicious, with homemade jams and pound cake, plus soft-boiled eggs laid fresh that day by the garden hens. In the evenings, tasty dinners were waiting when we got back, and we could share what we'd discovered. Thank you, thank you for these four days and all the great advice that helped us forget the gloomy weather. Good things come in threes, at least. See you next year!
