Logis Hotel Bellevue

What made leaving so hard was the food, the people, and the place. We had dinner here every day, and by the last day we were sad to go. We didn't have breakfast there because we were heading out early, around 6 a.m., to explore nature before it got too hot. The staff were lovely, helpful, friendly, and had a good sense of humor. The restaurant really hit the spot when we were hungry. Our room had a large comfortable bed, a huge wardrobe with a safe inside, two chairs, a desk, air conditioning, a TV, and a fridge big enough for at least five 2-liter bottles. The bathroom and toilet were new and very clean. The room was cleaned regularly and the towels were changed. Pets are allowed. There's a large car park with easy access. The pool and jacuzzi are there, though we didn't use them. I can see this place suiting families with children, older people, couples, and people traveling with animals. Whether it's for everyone depends on personal taste, of course. We discovered more of the area each day, and had a great stay.

The location was a real plus, with restaurants and the riverfront just a two-minute walk away. The rooms were very well equipped, and the staff made us feel welcome. We also enjoyed cooling off in the pool. We got our gear from Abaca Canoes for a two-day descent of the river. The chap who sorted us out was great, and the hotel let us leave our car in its car park while we were away. Would happily recommend it.

Our travel delays meant we arrived late, but the restaurant staff were really kind and let us eat after their usual hours. A very friendly, accommodating place to stay.

I ordered the house hamburger, and it was exactly what I want from a burger: the ingredients were well prepared and worked together, and it held together instead of falling apart like burgers at many burger places. The menu may look simple at first, but the dishes are made really well, and the prices were on the lower side for a restaurant with such a nice view. We'd expected a typical little town restaurant overlooking the Ardéche river and the bridge between Saint-Martin-d’Ardéche and Aigueze, so the food and service were a pleasant surprise. The staff were professional, efficient, and friendly. If you're in Saint-Martin-d’Ardéche and want somewhere quieter than the rowdy tourist restaurants, give restaurant Bellevue a try.
