We spent one night in the upstairs suite and two in a standard room while exploring Normandy. The chateau dates back to the 12th century, and the rooms have a lovely period feel. The orchard grounds are beautiful to wander around. Monsieur Vincent was a wonderful host, and his breakfast was a treat: fresh crepes, eggs, bacon, fruit, pastries, and cappuccino, with buffet options too. The price felt very reasonable for what we got. I’d happily recommend it.

Vincent and his family made us feel very welcome, greeting us at the entrance, helping with our bags upstairs, and answering our questions. Our room was kept clean and tidy each day, and breakfast was a generous homemade treat with plenty of choice. There’s also a shared fridge downstairs for guests. The setting is very quiet, with a lovely garden and lots of parking, and Bayeux is about a 10-minute drive away.

The grounds are park-like, with a mixed fruit orchard to stroll through, and the area is handy for visiting the many museums nearby. The chateau itself has a fascinating history going back to 1150. The owners are welcoming, and Monsieur puts on a fantastic breakfast. Do yourself a favor and stay for a couple of nights.

You get the bed and breakfast comforts here, with the extra fun of staying in a chateau. The hosts are great, the beds are comfortable, showers are hot, rooms get serviced daily, and breakfast is amazing. If B&Bs are your thing, you’ll love CHATEAU DE DAMIGNY.

A handy base for seeing Bayeux and the surrounding area. Breakfast was superb, and Victor (?) went out of his way to cook whatever we wanted. He also shared some good ideas for places to eat in town. The place was clean and tidy, though the outside of the house could use a bit of work.
