Hotel Au Puits Enchante

The wine list is great, and the food was very good too. Such a lovely hotel.

The food was decent, though simple, with dauphinoise potatoes as the only side. There was no fruit with our dessert, unlike the desserts at other tables. We had Sunday lunch at 12:30 pm. The starter took an hour, and it was nearly two hours before we finished the main course. At 2:35, after we'd already been at the table for over two hours, we politely asked if the cheese course could be hurried along or if we could go straight to dessert. We were told that if we were in a hurry, we should have said so when we arrived, and that we were lucky the restaurant was even open on a Sunday. The bill was wrong when we went to pay. I pointed it out calmly, and the chef said, "You won't be back anyway." He added that I would've been better off saying nothing because the Mâcon wine was more expensive. Then he accused us of changing the menu, apparently mixing us up with the next table. He finished with, "If you're in a hurry on a Sunday, go to McDonald's." I'm 50 and have eaten at many restaurants, but this is the first time I've been treated like that. The food was decent, but the welcome and service were truly regrettable. Everyone will have their own opinion.

The setting was lovely, and the food was exquisite during my lunch break last Wednesday. The welcome and service were excellent, and suited the beautiful surroundings. I started eating the appetizer before taking its photo because I was so hungry 😋😉. I highly recommend it.
