The rooms feel a bit tired, though it looks like improvements are underway. For me, the location worked well, and the place was inexpensive, clean, and basic. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed staying there.
We ended up sleeping in a storage cupboard. After years of travelling around the world, this was easily the worst experience I've had. It was a shocking stay. We arrived in the evening to a hotel that looked quite run down. I expected things might be a little rough after reading the reviews, but there was nowhere else available. We were handed keys, opened the door, and found our room stripped out for renovation. Another couple had the same problem. It was already 10pm, there was a storm outside, and we were on bikes with nowhere to go. Reception brushed us off, saying they were fully booked and couldn't help. Bookings.com was no help either. We called around to lots of other hotels, but they were all full. Eventually, after begging for somewhere to sleep, we were given piles of dirty bedding in a storage cupboard. One of our friends was 'fortunate' enough to get a room with beds, but it was horrendous. The damp and mould smell was overpowering, the bathroom was a pod with barely any space to move, there was no soap, and the whole place looked filthy. We couldn't tell if sleeping on the floor in the cupboard would have been better or worse than staying in the rooms. I can't believe places like this are still open for bookings. Avoid at all costs.
If you arrive late, just call and someone will come out to the parking area. Parking is really difficult and cramped. If you park in front of reception, you can't turn around, so you have to back the whole way out.
We checked in at about 3am after I booked this as a break during my drive in France. The room smelled of stale cigarettes, the light didn't work, and it was filthy and falling apart. I've stayed all over the world and can manage a rough night, but I've never walked into anywhere this vile. We left almost straight away and ended up sleeping in the car, homeless for the night, since no one else would let us book that late.
The room was fairly clean, but badly looked after, and the toilet didn't work. Apparently, nothing could be done about it. It was noisy too: you could hear the showers and toilets in all the neighboring rooms, along with traffic from the road. Be aware that city tax wasn't included in the price and may be as much as €14 per person.
