La Demeure de l'Aubance

We had a lovely fresh breakfast made with local things, and since it was summer we ate outside in the yard. La Demeure de l'Aubance was a charming last-minute find, quiet and tucked away, with a warm welcome from Nathalie and attentive service. The old house has been recently renovated, with spacious, spotless rooms and lovely decor full of little details. Outside there’s a big yard, an orchard, a cute garden, and a chicken coop without a rooster. It felt like home, and we'd happily recommend it. Thanks so much, Nathalie.

We woke up to breakfast served outside, all nicely presented and good quality. From the window, we could see the Loire countryside, with hot air balloons still passing overhead and no traffic around. After visiting Angers, my wife, our daughters, aged 14 and 18, and I drove about 20 minutes to this wonderful place for one night on August 17, 2023. The lady welcomed us warmly and showed us the apartment. Our daughters were thrilled with the surreal atmosphere. We had two lovely manor-style rooms, plus a pleasant bathroom with a shower and a small toilet. I highly recommend it. Thanks to the owners.

The rooms are lovely and finished to a very high standard, and Nathalie and Frederic were great hosts who took care of everything when we wanted them to. They spent four years turning an impressive homestead dating back to the 1860s into a modern home while keeping its original feel. We set out on our bikes from here, with plenty of nice routes towards the Loire. Angers is also quite close by car. A very strong recommendation.

The hosts looked after us so well and gave us such a warm welcome. Everything seemed carefully thought through, making for a really pleasant stay. The place was clean and well located, and we’d gladly come back. Highly recommend!
