L'eclipse

The rooms were comfortable and the property was well looked after. It was a calm, peaceful place to slow down, relax and recharge, with a friendly, simple atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and easygoing that we felt at ease right away. I stayed with my family and our three children, and they all had a great time too. A lovely fit for anyone looking for a bit of peace.

The room worked perfectly for the two of us and our baby, and the bedding was new. Ms. Godart was kind and attentive, and we received a charming welcome. Breakfast was very generous. I recommend staying here for castle visits or a short break.

Breakfast was advertised from 7:30 to 11:00, so I went down at 8:30, but there was nobody around and nothing to eat. I called the owner, who said, "You told me 9:00 a.m. That's the time I was supposed to leave." I had woken her, so she came down and made a hearty breakfast, though the fruit she served was half rotten. It wasn't a pleasant stay, and I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse. I had booked Friday and Saturday nights but arrived alone on Saturday at about 11:30 am. With a wedding appointment at 3 pm, I asked where I could find a bakery. The owner curtly told me I'd need to drive 10 km to the nearest supermarket, since there were no bakeries nearby. I'd paid for breakfast but hadn't eaten it, and she didn't offer even a piece of bread. The room looked clean at first, but don't check the corners. I tried to pass the time with TV, but it didn't work, or barely worked. When I asked if she could fix it, she was even shorter with me: "Oh no, it's too hot. I'm not going up to the attic to watch." She came upstairs and said, "Well, you have channel 2, that's not bad. And people don't come here to watch television." I accepted that and waited for the village's souls. When I got ready for the wedding, I found that the advertised hairdryer was in poor shape, with broken brushes. The bathroom outlet was faulty, so I had to use the one in the toilet. It wasn't something two people could use. The shower had heavy limescale and moldy grout.

We stayed in the green room, one of several rooms decorated in different colors. The owner was friendly, kind and attentive, and breakfast was spectacular. The B&B is in the Loire Valley, close to the area's main castles. If we're back in the area, we'll stay here again. Highly recommended.
