The rooms are spotless and lovely, and the host is kind and helpful. It’s such a peaceful, beautiful place, right next to a golf course. This is where I like to stop for a weekend on my way to Bordeaux. Highly recommend.

The hosts were very pleasant, and breakfast was a simple continental spread with good bread, croissants, jam, and coffee or tea. We also had a very good dinner at L'Ecluse 52, a pretty canal-side restaurant about a 10-minute drive away. This is a great overnight stop on a long drive when you need proper rest: the beds are very comfortable, the shower is good, the shutters block out the light, and it’s very quiet.

The pool was lovely for a swim, and breakfast was excellent. Our bedroom was very clean and nicely decorated, with really comfortable beds, and the owners gave us a warm welcome. We had a great three-night stay at this excellent B&B, one of the best we’ve visited, and would love to return!

The pool was what won us over as soon as we arrived at DOMAINE DU BOIS SEGUIN. It sits among trees, and our five- and seven-year-old children had lots of room to run around. There’s a golf course right next door, and over our two weeks we collected more than a dozen golf balls. We’d found the place on Booking.com, where the official website information, room photos, and reviews convinced me to ask my husband to book the last room for August 14th to August 28th, 2025. Our room was air-conditioned and had Wi-Fi. It felt cozy and, above all, was clean and tidy. The children’s beds were beside ours, which made looking after them at night easy. They said the blankets felt like being hugged by clouds. The bath and hand towels were thick, pure cotton, and washable at 60 degrees Celsius. The children loved the pool so much they wanted to swim every day and go nowhere else. There are only three family rooms, so we staggered our swims and usually had the pool nearly to ourselves, haha. It’s divided into shallow and deep sections, which is thoughtful for babies and children. Robots clean it every day, and when strong winds blow leaves in, the owners remove them right away. Breakfast was a delicious French spread: croissants, baguettes, homemade jam, coffee, juice, hot chocolate, and fruit for the children. On sunny days it was served by the pool, and in cold or rainy weather we were invited to eat in the indoor living room. There’s also a shared kitchenette for anyone who doesn’t want to eat out every meal. Two large supermarkets and a shopping street are within a ten-minute drive, making it easy to buy groceries and cook simple home-style food like steak, pasta, or pizza. There are plenty of wineries, castles, and churches nearby to visit. Bordeaux is only thirty to forty minutes away, and the beach takes an hour to an hour and a half by car. Sylvie and Walter are a lovely couple. Sylvie is elegant and speaks English and French. From our first day, we felt how warm and welcoming they were. They gave us tourist information, often checked whether we needed anything, and were very pleasant to talk to. Walter speaks French and Italian, so there was a language barrier, but we saw him busy every day and he always greeted us warmly when we crossed paths. When he noticed us swimming, he’d quickly set out sun umbrellas and move chairs for us. He was patient with the children when they got loud and boisterous, and even played with them in the water. If you want a beautiful, quiet place without clutter for a relaxing holiday, you should stay here for a few days. Just remember that summer in the woods means mosquitoes, so bring repellent spray and cream. If we get the chance to pass through again, we’ll definitely come back!!!

The shared kitchen was clean and well equipped, and the bathroom was lovely, roomy, and practical. Our room had a chic look, decorated with real taste and refinement. The grounds are beautiful and very well cared for, bordering the golf course in a peaceful, relaxing setting. The owners are charming and friendly, and breakfast was delicious, with homemade jams, served by the pool or indoors depending on the weather. We loved our stay at the estate and highly recommend it. Thank you for your hospitality, Sylvie and Walter. See you soon!
