We wanted somewhere peaceful to read, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or an aperitif, and this B&B was just right. It sits at the top of a hill with one of the best views around. The setting is stunning, but Pascale and Yves are what made our stay so enjoyable. They’re available when you need them, while the rest of the time you can really switch off. We hardly saw any other guests, never more than two. We’re from the US and travel often, staying in hotels, Airbnbs and B&Bs, and this is one of the best places we’ve stayed anywhere. The reviews we read before booking, and after coming home, rang true. The room was immaculate and better than its website photo. We stayed in the canon's room, which was larger than we expected, quite modern, and on the second level, reached by outdoor stairs. We’d pick it again. The building is old and full of charm, but clean and fitted with modern amenities. I sometimes worry that places like this will feel old and musty, but that wasn’t the case here. Everything was spotless. I don’t usually eat breakfast, and I’m not a morning person, but I looked forward to it each day. Pascale went above and beyond with homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries and French treats like crepes. We ate outside, and the weather couldn’t have been better. Breakfast is the only meal available. You do need a car, which also makes it easy to visit nearby towns and restaurants. There’s a grocery store less than a 10-minute drive away, and guests can bring their own food and wine. The outdoor kitchen area has what you need, including plates, glasses and utensils. Pascale and Yves were also incredibly helpful with restaurant suggestions and ideas for other parts of France to visit on a return trip. The price felt reasonable for the experience. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in the area.

Pascale’s local knowledge was a real help. She gave us great advice on restaurants, beaches, sights and parking, which added a lot to our time in this beautiful part of Provence. She and Yves are friendly and helpful without hovering. Our La Nicoise suite was spacious, spotless and very well furnished. Each morning Pascale made a varied, high-quality French breakfast with homemade items. Le Max de Chanoine is a lovely old house that’s been well maintained, surrounded by pretty private gardens. The large pool is in a peaceful garden spot with wonderful views over the hills and countryside.

We stayed at Le Mas du Chanoine with my wife, and it was even better than we expected. The location is near the attractions, yet peaceful enough for a restful night. From arrival, the service was warm, attentive and professional, and Pascale and Yves showed real care in the small details. They helped with restaurant bookings and local suggestions, and checked that we were enjoying our stay without making the service feel impersonal. Our room was spacious, immaculate and thoughtfully laid out, with comfortable bedding and modern amenities. Housekeeping was reliable and considerate of my schedule. Breakfast each morning had a broad range of fresh, delicious choices for different tastes and dietary needs. We’d happily recommend Le Mas de Chanoine to anyone visiting the South of France, and we’ll return on our next trip. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The location was quiet and beautiful, and well placed for exploring the area. Pascal and Yves made us feel at home from the time we arrived until we left, with so much warmth and care for the details. The room was spacious and luxurious, breakfast was delicious, and the whole property was kept to a very high standard. We loved every minute and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

The garden and pool are lovely, and the property is very well placed for exploring the area. We’ve just come back from five wonderful nights at Mas du Chanoine, and there was nothing we could fault. Pascale and Yves looked after us so well. Our immaculate room had amazing views, and the bathroom was extremely well appointed. Breakfast was a treat, with Pascale spoiling us with delicious homemade things, many made from fruit grown in the garden. We couldn’t have asked for anything better and will definitely return. Thank you, Pascale and Yves!
