We spent a week here with a caravan and two tents on two pitches, and the stay went smoothly. The owners were kind and considerate, and did what they could to make things comfortable. The pitches had the usual South of France feel, with trees, roots and hard ground. Bathrooms were clean and looked after, and the pool was warm and lovely. There were regular activities, which could be fun, though sometimes they got in the way of a swim after a day out. A clear finish time for activities at the pool would help. It's around an hour from Nice, so nearby towns are easy to visit before coming back to the quiet. A good campsite, and one we'd consider returning to.

We stayed in June, before the busy season, and mornings started with birdsong. The campsite was quiet, restful and well cared for, and the owners were very helpful with information about walks nearby. Our mobile home was spotless and the air conditioning was much appreciated. The pool was superb, and the small bar, snack place and restaurant were a pleasant extra. Wishing the owners a successful summer.

The worst part of our three-week holiday was a broken toilet seat that cut my leg and left it infected for a long time. The sanitary facilities were poor, with rust and mould, and showering came with a lot of odd rules. Our caravan is 4.5 metres long with an awning, and we barely squeezed into the very small pitch. The owner also drove his golf cart down the hill extremely fast, over 30 km/h, while children were playing beside the road. The pool rules felt selectively enforced. We don't speak French, but followed the sign by wearing Speedos instead of shorts. Other people were wearing shorts, throwing balls and using inflatable toys without being stopped. My sister lost a hairband in the pool and was looking for it when the lifeguard became angry because she couldn't understand her. After a brief exchange, the lifeguard called the owner. He couldn't have a normal conversation, came over shouting at my sister and dad, and touched them while trying to point out a handwritten French sign saying hair had to be tied back, along with other rules that many other people weren't following either. We felt singled out as tourists. What an idiotic campsite. Don't go here.

We were there for three nights in September, after the high season, when some facilities had closed to conserve resources. The restaurant menu was limited at that point, but portions and food quality were more than enough. The pool was nice, and there were plenty of sports options, including tennis, ping-pong and mini golf. The grounds had a good balance of sun and shade, with pretty plants and ornaments throughout. The owners were cheerful and welcoming, and everything was very clean and well maintained. A lovely campsite.

Lake Saint-Cassien is just 15 minutes away by car, a great spot to cool down on a hot day. There isn't much within walking distance, with the nearest town an hour on foot, but you can hire bikes at the site. We stayed a week at camping le parc, inland from Frejus among olive groves. I had a campervan pitch and my sister stayed in a cabin. The relaxed site has a pool, jacuzzi, ping-pong, tennis and crazy golf, plus a tidy, clean shower block and a friendly office. It was genuinely dog friendly, which mattered to us. We enjoyed the restaurant's pizzas and steak, and it was a nice place to have a beer. A lovely stay.
