Chambres d'hôtes Les Denias

The home cooked French dinner was delicious, and we enjoyed the wine from a nearby vineyard so much that we went to visit it too. Breakfast was a lovely continental spread, with homemade jams and fresh orange juice. We were welcomed so warmly, and a little help from Google Translator made the language gap easy to manage. The place sits among vineyards, with a beautifully kept garden and spacious, pretty rooms. Ours had a big comfortable bed, sofa, TV, dining and cooking area, plus a lovely walk in shower. Everything was very clean and well presented. It was perfect for relaxing and recharging, and we’d definitely stay again. Thanks for a lovely visit.

The room stayed surprisingly cool on the hottest day of the year. Our host showed us how to switch on the air conditioning so it would be comfortable after we drove into Blaye for dinner, and it was already a nice temperature compared with the unbearable heat outside. The newly renovated room is on the top floor, with just a small window and a little Velux, so it’s dark. That suited me fine, since I like a dark room. We picked this place for secure parking. Getting to the parking area wasn’t completely inaccessible, though the Chambre D'Hotel is well off the beaten path. The host was wonderful and gave us just the right amount of introduction when we arrived. I wondered at first if the place would feel high end enough, but it turned out to be excellent for what we needed. We’d arranged not to have breakfast before arriving. For our short stay, Les Denias was exactly right, and I’d choose it over the other options in the area.

The room opened straight out onto the garden, and the setting was lovely. It was hard to find, but our host was friendly and helpful.

Estelle welcomed us warmly and had good suggestions for places to explore. The place itself is peaceful and has a lovely, traditional feel, with excellent amenities. Breakfast was generous and included.
