Residence Tropic Appart'hotel

The apartment, a duplex, was spotless, with comfortable beds and immaculate linens and towels. Its kitchenette had new, modern appliances and all the tableware we needed. The hotel and apartment felt newly renovated, with tasteful furniture and decorations; the renovation was in summer 2023. The front desk lady was always smiling, friendly and helpful. We were in a beautiful neighborhood, with the beach a short walk away and a supermarket and restaurants less than five minutes on foot. After a nightmare first night in a chalet elsewhere in Reunion, which made us flee, this was a wonderful change. Definitely recommend it!

The duplex setup was great for us: each room had its own bathroom, TV, terrace and door, so you can sleep in as long as you need. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the bed was excellent. The room was clean, though some furniture felt too old and could be replaced. The kitchenette was well equipped, including a professional Nespresso machine, and coffee refills are sold in the lobby. It's a very good location, about a five-minute walk from the lagoon. There's a large, protected car park and a small pool between the buildings, big enough for residents of this 40-room hotel. Just be aware that duplex rooms are one level upstairs and there's no lift.

The room was small and dark, with a dated feel and a kitchenette on the balcony. It's near the beach, but the place feels cramped, and in peak season the price isn't worth it unless you can't find anywhere else. I wouldn't bother. If you're at the back, avoid the car park view, also called the mountain view.

Bars and restaurants are all around, and there's a supermarket right next door. The sea is 100m away. It's self-catering and a perfect place!
