Maureen at reception was so courteous and sorted out the booking mistake we ran into. She was helpful with everything else too, and the place felt like staying with a close friend or relative. The rooms are a little dated, though still fairly comfortable, with a distinctive design and a handy cooking patio or balcony. It's leafy and breezy around the property. Getting to town and the pier means a 20-minute-plus walk with some uphill stretches, so having a car is probably a good idea.

The pool was a highlight, and the surroundings are pleasant. It's a little outside the center, but there is free parking both in the hotel car park and just outside the entrance. Our room was clean and had WiFi, a fridge, and air conditioning. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The room was clean and had what we needed to cook for ourselves. We really enjoyed our stay at Tama Hotel, and the staff were friendly and ready to help.
