Hotel Victoria

The shower cradle wasn't suitable, which made showering awkward, and the mattress was so uncomfortable that I struggled to fall asleep. Noise carried through the night, from both the street and other guests, making for a very unpleasant stay. The hotel also seems outdated and hasn't been renovated for a long time. I wouldn't recommend it.

The moment my family and I came through the door, we felt uneasy. There was a really unhealthy smell, and we immediately had the sense that something was wrong.

I was bedridden with COVID, fever, aches and digestive problems, and failed to give timely notice that I was cancelling the weekend. They charged me for the full stay anyway. Even though I'd stayed there before, there was no understanding or effort to help. The person on the phone was unfriendly and hung up on me. That inflexibility and lack of commercial sense in that situation felt very dishonest and disrespectful to a loyal customer. I won't recommend this hotel. After this disappointment, Booking.com called me back, and their agent also found you unpleasant. P.S. This is the message from the person you're probably booking with. And just to be clear, I absolutely did not object!

The setting was nice, with a few pleasant restaurants nearby, thankfully. As for the hotel, either winter is its busy season or it's past its best. The bar and the attractive street café shown in the photos are no longer there. The accommodation is basic, with breakfast and rock-hard beds. We were also given the wrong Wi-Fi details on a scrap of paper, and the staff had already left. Next time, I'll check a few things with the staff in advance.
