We found the calm, simple atmosphere and the natural setting exactly what we like, especially at a reasonable price. The welcome from the energetic Mr. Guy was very warm. The bathrooms were clean, with very clean hot water.

We were delighted with our stay. You’re right by the canals, under the shade of ash trees, in the heart of the marshland, and it’s absolutely peaceful. Maillezais Abbey and the starting points for walks in the marsh are very close by. There are only four pitches, so campers get plenty of care and attention. The grassy area is huge, the pitches are spacious, and there’s a horse, chickens, and a pétanque court. The sanitary facilities are small but clean, and the whole setting is charming, bucolic, and well maintained. It’s a family-run campsite, with a five-star welcome from the manager and a high standard for a very reasonable price.

We had two lovely evenings here and slept peacefully. The owner gave us a warm welcome, and the location is just right for a countryside break surrounded by nature. We’d happily recommend it.

Guy, our 88-year-old guide, made discovering the history of the Marais feel like a gondola ride in Venice 😉. He and his wife are both charming, welcoming, warm, and generous.
