The local wine list is a nice touch, and breakfast has a French feel. This family-run B&B seems like a good place to stop while travelling the wine routes.

I first stayed at Les Foucauds as a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago, which goes right past the entrance gate. I came back for 10 days because I was so taken with the atmosphere and the setting, and I’ll definitely return again. It’s a really peaceful place, with a pool for relaxing after a day out, and roomy, stylish rooms with beds I slept well in. There’s plenty to do nearby, from walks and food experiences to cultural trips by car, though it’s just as good for unwinding. The hostess makes time for her guests, and I’d recommend asking her for tips on places to eat and things to see.

The garden is huge, with plenty of quiet little corners, in the sun or the shade. The vineyards and the general calm make the outdoors especially lovely. Our hostess has worked in winemaking for 35 years, and she shared an exclusive tasting with lots of explanation. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for oenology really came through. Nearby breakfast can be ordered, and a short drive away there are several large supermarkets with a good range of supplies. The building has been neatly renovated, and the main house dates back to 1789 (!). The rooms have private bathrooms and very good mattresses. Our hostess was extremely charming and spoke several languages well. My family and parents-in-law had a very pleasant stay, and we’re grateful for her hospitality. Our room had no air conditioning. Wi-Fi was available, but the signal was too weak in places, including at the pool.

I always have a fabulous time here. Isabelle makes you feel like family, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Paradise. Thanks, Isabelle!

We had unforgettable days here, thanks to the special setting and our lovely hostess. Each day brought something enjoyable, from relaxing to varied outings, beautiful greenery, and good food. We’re already looking forward to coming back.
