The breakfast was good, with eggs, cheese, ham, bread, and croissants for €11. We were almost alone in this huge house, but were still asked not to get too comfortable in case someone else arrived. This old farmhouse is a hidden gem in a beautiful rural setting. We fell for the peaceful grounds, the animals, and how few people were around. But after the first afternoon and night, the owner took us aside and said we’d rented a room, not the whole place. The shared living room and kitchen weren’t for our use because we hadn’t booked all 15 rooms. The kitchen, including the fridge and microwave, was only meant for preparing the baby’s bottle. He also wasn’t happy that we’d left a melon and two tomatoes in a bowl and some things in the fridge, and asked us to be more careful. His accusation that we’d made a mess, along with his rude words, spoiled the experience for us, even though that wasn’t what had happened. I’d still recommend the place, especially for larger groups or people with horses. But if you’re just two and expect more than a room, bear in mind that the rest of the complex isn’t available. We paid for a room, and that was all we could use. I doubt we’ll return, as we were very disappointed.

We were delighted with our stay in a guest room at 2 rue de la Pâturette in Saint Quentin-en-Tourmont. The owners were very welcoming, and breakfast was hearty if you wanted it, served in a large room with the kind of fireplace you’d expect in a house like this. The property is near Marquenterre Park in the Bay of Somme, and the small port of Le Crotoy is 10 km away. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding.

The room was clean and perfectly good, with a lovely soft bed and pillow. The shower was great to use, even though the cabin is near the end of its life, and a few parts of the place need maintenance. The stairs would be a good place to start. Breakfast was excellent and more than enough, and the price for what you get was more than excellent. Service was good, though the host spoke only French. Google Translate helped us communicate a lot. This isn’t somewhere to use as a daycare, and it’s too far from the main road.

A spacious, quiet room in a magnificent property surrounded by nature, and easy to reach by car. Breakfast was generous, with local products, and served in the veranda. The host was helpful. There are several nearby towns worth visiting, including Le Crotoy, Cayeux, and Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. I’d highly recommend it if you want some fresh air away from the city.
