Azzurra Immo: Le Hameau Cap Estérel

The kids loved the water slide, and one of the pools had waves every hour. Our apartment was small but worked fine, with a lovely sea view. The downside was that the balcony got no shade during the day.

The scenery is absolutely amazing, and the heated pool was nice. The local shop had plenty in stock, and everyone I spoke with was friendly and spoke English. Our family found the rooms a bit too tiny, though we still had a pleasant stay. Prices in the village were okay, but meals out and activities could get pretty expensive.

Our holiday was badly affected by mice in the apartment at Cap Estérel. We found droppings on the kitchen table, and mice were in both the kitchen and the closet. We don't know whether we ate any contaminated food. They were active in the room while we were there and even while we slept. We were traveling with three children, who were frightened, and had to throw away all our food and groceries. We also lost a full day of vacation. We complained several times over several days but weren't taken seriously. After several calls, at around 1:00 AM, they agreed to move us to another apartment. Nobody came to help with the mice, though, and they told us to deal with it ourselves. We received 15% compensation, which didn't even cover the food we had to discard. When we asked for more, they said our first apartment had been left unsatisfied because we left in the middle of the night with our three small children and, with no help from staff, forgot to put the sheets and towels in the bag. I'm really disappointed they used that as an excuse. After many years as loyal guests, we're deeply disappointed. This ruined a large part of our holiday. There are many nice places in the area, and other companies renting in Cap Esterel offer better service, so try those instead.

After visiting Cap Esterel in Agay more than twenty times, I can honestly say we won't return. My heart just doesn't beat for the place anymore, and even sleeping on a sofa bed no longer feels like part of a holiday. Today, my family and I were treated arrogantly around the Le Hameau pool. Staff accused us of breaking the swimwear rules instead of listening, which felt unacceptable and disrespectful to long-time guests. The lifeguard seemed more occupied with her phone and books than watching the pool. Over the years, Cap Esterel has lost much of its charm. The wear and tear shows, service has declined, and the rules feel increasingly strict. Even having a small snack or drink by the pool is now policed by lifeguards. What used to feel fun and relaxing has become rigid and unwelcoming.
